The National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS) is an initiative of the Australian Government and is administered by Diabetes Australia. The NDSS provides information, programs, services and subsidised products to support people living with diabetes.

This session will cover how the NDSS supports women diagnosed with gestational diabetes, pre-existing (type 1 and type 2) diabetes in pregnancy and the health professionals who care for these women and their families.

This session will provide an update on ten (10) key initiatives from the NDSS. These initiatives can be used by health professionals in the workplace to support women with diabetes in pregnancy. Topics covered include:

  1. what’s new in the ‘Health Professional Portal’
  2. update on access to continuous glucose and flash glucose monitoring
  3. introduction to the new ‘My NDSS Portal’
  4. new online education program ‘Gestational diabetes and me’
  5. new resources for contraception and pregnancy planning
  6. new webpage ‘Your health after gestational diabetes’
  7. recap of the translated resources available for gestational diabetes
  8. what’s changed on the NDSS website page for health professionals
  9. new online ‘NDSS health workforce education program’
  10. information about the diabetes in pregnancy online modules for health professionals
